On arrival at Guatemala's La Aurora Airport, our representative will transfer you to Lake Atitlán, one of the most beautiful areas in the world, with its crystalline azure waters in the crater bowl below. Atitlán is the ideal place to come in contact with Guatemalan folklore. Twelve Indian villages surround the Lake, and their inhabitants are descendants from the great Quiché, Cackchiquel, and Tzutuhil nations. Driving time from Guatemala City to Lake Atitlán is approximately 3 hours. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at Porta Hotel del Lago.

Today you will start your morning with a wellness activity overlooking the beautiful Lake Atitlán, surrounded by volcanos. Afterwards, you will depart on a boat transfer from the hotel to Panajachel. Kayaking on Lake Atitlán is a relaxing and incredible experience! The calm and crystal waters of the lake in the morning offer incredible view of the surrounding mountains. The kayaking trip starts in Panajachel to the hot springs of Santa Catarina which takes around one hour. Once you arrive near the thermal waters, take time to relax or swim before we make our way back to Panajachel in the early afternoon. Spend the afternoon at leisure before we have dinner at the hotel.

Lake Atitlán- San Pedro Atitlán
Begin your morning with a wellness activity before you board the boat to cross Lake Atitlán to the picturesque indigenous village of San Pedro Atitlán, one of the twelve lake-shore villages surrounding the lake. Half the group will horseback ride and half will do trekking surrounding the town and farms. The local guide will lead you through trails, coffee plantations and family vegetable plantations among Tzutujiles and Mayan inhavitants, making handcrafts and cultivating their land with the ancestral techniques they preserve today. Return to the hotel where the remainder of the afternoon and evening is at leisure.

Lake Atitlán – San Juan La Lagun
Today you will enjoy a wellness activity at the hotel’s gardens. Afterwards, you will take a boat to cross Lake Atitlán to visit San Juan La Laguna. This village is of Cackchiquel origin and its inhabitants are mainly fisherman and farmers, as well as textile manufacturers. San Juan boasts lovely views of the expansive blue lake and lush vegetation in its vibrant gardens. San Juan is home to several local cooperatives, from beekeepers to coffee growers to backstrap loom weavers. Afterwards, you will return to the hotel to enjoy the evening at leisure.

In the morning, you will be picked up at your hotel for your transfer to Pacaya Volcano, which is one of the Guatemala’s 33 volcanoes, located between the departments of Escuintla and Guatemala. It remains active permanently, offering a spectacular show for those who watch it nearby or from a distance (mostly at night). Due to its constant activity, the volcano has experienced several changes in its formation, creating several peaks and fumaroles other than the main opening, among which the Mackenney Peak stands out. Here you will be able to have a different and exciting optional wellness activity. In the afternoon, you will be transferred back to Antigua.
